Description

Deletes from the site of the P{A92} insertion, -34kb of FBrf0040194, to -17kb, removing part of the first intron, the first exon and about 13kb upstream of the initiation site, including regions where several bithoraxoid mutations map. The Ecol\lacZ and ry+t7.2 are left intact.

Detailed Description

UbxI.7/Ubxbx-3 flies show a reduction of phenotype (increase of transvection) in the halteres when compared to Ubx1/Ubxbx-3 flies. However they show a stronger transformation than Ubx50.1/Ubxbx-3 flies. Ubx50.1/Ubxpbx-1 and UbxI.7/Ubxpbx-1 flies show a milder phenotype in the haltere than Ubx1/Ubxpbx-1 or Ubxpbx-1/Df(3R)P9, indicating there is transvection.

Comments

Attempts to mobilise the P{A92} with Δ2-3 failed, suggesting that one of the P-element sequences needed for mobilization has been impaired.
