      In a wild-type background, 8% of flies are arrhythmic.

      per01 flies carrying two copies of per+t12.3 show an increase in locomotor activity period of approximately 2 hours when moved from 20 to 27oC, whereas there is no significant difference in period in per01 flies carrying one copy of per+t12.3 compared to wild type. Flies carrying per+t12.3 have a phase response curve (PRC) that would be predicted for flies with 27 hours locomotor activity periods at 27oC.

      Rescues the behavioral rhythm defect of per01 mutants, with average period of 26.2hr. Rescue is independent of eyes and ocelli, as rescue still occurs in an eya2 and oc- mutants.
