XY flies carrying traHsp83.PS develop phenotypically as nearly perfect females.
At temperatures >=25oC all XY flies carrying one copy of traHsp83.PS differentiate as somatic females. Ovaries of such pseudofemales are predominantly tumorous, with egg chambers filled with thousands of small germ cells surrounded by apparently normal follicle cells.
traHsp83.PS has abnormal sex-determination | male phenotype, suppressible by Doaunspecified/DoaDem
The female differentiation seen in XY flies carrying traHsp83.PS is substantially reversed if the flies are also carrying Doaunspecified/DoaDem.
