Description

A 3.2kb XbaI fragment that carries the AdhF allele.

3.2kb XbaI Adh fragment which has 0.66kb of 5' flanking sequences and 0.64kb of 3' flanking sequences, all of the cis-acting DNA sequences necessary for the major tissue specificities of Adh expression.

Adh expression has correct tissue specificity but Adh protein levels of adult flies is reduced by two fold and levels in third instar larval by 10-fold.

Carried in a plasmid, expressed in E.coli cells and injected into preblastoderm embryos. Larvae and adults developed from these embryos are dissected and stained for Adh activity.

Carried in a plasmid and used in a transient expression assay.
