Eye colour: wild type with z+. Eye colour: males brown, females almost white on P cytotype male.

Eye colour: wild type with z+. Eye colour: males lighter at 29oC than at 25oC. Eye colour: brown, in males in presence of P-elements with z1. Eye colour: almost white, in homozygous females in presence of P-elements with z1.

Eye colour: males, almost wild-type in a z1 background; homozygous females display a patterned coloration, with a broken ring of orange spots on an almost w background, similar to wzh.

Eye colour: males, almost wild-type eye colouration with some very dark ommatidia with z1 at 25oC. Ocelli colour: males colouress, ith z1 at 25oC. Eye colour: brownish-red in heterozygous females in a z1 background at 25oC. Eye colour: homozygous females with z1, patterned, with a broken ring of orange speckles in the peripheral parts of the eye on an almost white background; this phenotype is temperature sensitive, being reduced as the temperature increases;at 18oC the eye has a red-orange halo that almost reaches the centre of the eye, this halo is reduced to a broken ring of orange spots at 25oC and is almost absent at 29oC.

The interaction with P-elements requires z1 and is strongly dependent on the site of insertion of the P{wd19.3} transgene.
