Genomic nos fragment in which the nos 3'UTR (834bp EcoRI-XhoI fragment) has been replaced with the αTub84B 3'UTR (197bp ScaI-HpaI fragment). A Tag:HA epitope has been inserted at the 5' end of the nos coding region.

Third instar larvae expressing nosαTub84B.UTR.T:Ivir\HA1 show a significant reduction in terminal dendritic branching of the class IV da neurons.

Embryos derived from nosBN females that also carry nosαTub84B.UTR.T:Ivir\HA1 lack all head and thoracic segments.

Females carrying nosαTub84B.UTR.T:Ivir\HA1 are completely sterile, producing embryos with head defects and lack of thoracic segments.

One copy of P{nos-tub3'UTR} produces a phenotype that resembles mislocalisation of nos mRNA, embryos fail to hatch, they lack anterior structures and often show duplication of posterior structures at the anterior.
