      The eastETX3 phenotype is not associated with a significant rate of nondisjunction of achiasmate X-chromosomes in female meiosis.

      Homozygotes or hemizygotes show mutant response to benzaldehyde and isoamylacetate, ethylacetate, propionic acid and butanol in olfactory jump test, and Y maze assay. Also show specific gustatory defects, being more tolerant to high salts than wild type. Phototactic responses of adults as measured in countercurrent tests are normal.
