wgl-15 clones induced in the retina 42 hours after pupal formation contain fewer cone cells than controls. Loss of cone cells occurs if the clone is in the centre of the retina or at the edge.

wgl-15 clones in the eye discs of third instar larvae have fewer cone cells than controls.

Clones in the antennal disc result in a severe reduction in the size of the disc. Adult flies carrying homozygous clones show a transformation of the dorsal head cuticle into ectopic eye tissue, and have missing antennae.

Embryos show lawn of denticles, with no naked cuticle.

No reduction in rate of germ band extension, in wg, ptc, en triple mutants.
