Detailed Description

twr1/twr2 flies have a rough eye phenotype with disorganisation of the ommatidia and degenerative photoreceptors.

The average number of crystal cells per embryo is reduced in homozygous stage 13-14 embryos (raised at the nonpermissive temperature of 30oC) compared to wild type.

Mutant eye (rough surface) and bristle (reduced and twisted) phenotype at 25oC and lethal at 28oC.
