Eye colour: pale orange to eyes with more pigmentation that can only be distinguished from wild-type in very young flies. Reduced pteridine levels in the head.

GTP cyclohydrolase activity is strongly reduced in the adult head, nearly normal in the adult body and moderately reduced in the prepupa of homozygotes. The viability and in trans with other Pu alleles has been determined.
