      Stronger dorsalising phenotype is seen at 18oC than 29oC. Heterozygotes with Df(3R)R38.3 have a moderately dorsalised phenotype at 18oC and a completely dorsalised phenotype when heterozygous with pll16. Transheterozygotes with pll16 are completely dorsalised, the phenotype of pll4 Tl3p/pll16 is unchanged from the transheterozygote. Transheterozygotes with pll9 are moderately dorsalised, the phenotype of pll4 Tl3p/pll9 is unchanged from the transheterozygote.

      pll4/pll9 is a cold sensitive combination. Cold sensitive period for pelle function is around stage 4 of development, coinciding with the nuclear import of dorsal protein.
