Dop1R1f02676 homozygous adults show an apparently normal sensitivity to ethanol as compared to controls: they shown an apparently normal time until sedation and a normal tolerance development following daily exposures; they also show normal ethanol-induced disinhibition, as shown by the increasing frequency of inter-male courtship upon continual exposure.
Df(3R)DAMB1 mutant flies show increased resistance to paraquat intoxication compared to controls. Increased survival rates are seen at 24 hours after ingestion and 2 hours after direct application to the ventral nerve cord (VNC) of decapitated flies. This increase in resistance is seen at all ages between 1 and 15 days after eclosion.
The survival rate of Df(3R)DAMB1 flies 2 hours after exposure to 35 mM dopamine is ~1.7 times higher than that of similarly treated wild- type flies and close to the survival rate of the untreated wild type.
In(3LR)234 mutant larvae show a significantly reduced performance in aversive olfactory learning (using amylacetate (AM) and benzaldehyde (BA)) compared to controls. Appetitive olfactory learning is unaffected. Perception of BA and salt are similar to wild type, but sugar and AM perception is significantly reduced.
