Chromosome J-shaped in metaphase <up>e.g., Janning, 1970, Mol. Gen. Genet. 107: 150-57 (fig.)</up>. An X chromosome in normal sequence with YS appended as a second arm. May carry varying amounts of the proximal part of YL between X and the centromere.

Affected Genes Inferred by Location (0)
If no genes are listed here, it may be because the affected region is very large. The JBrowse insert above may show an error for the same reason, and other FlyBase tools such as CytoSearch may also fail for large regions. You can contact FlyBase for more help.
In this case, the "Export to Hitlist" button at left will also be disabled.

C(1;YS)1/Y males produce a similar number of progeny as X/Y males.

Males carrying X.YS require KL in some form for fertility.

Recurrent product of recombination the proximal heterochromatin of C(1)RM and the Y Also recovered as one element of T(1;Y)'s induced in X/Y sperm with one break in YL and the other in X heterochromatin (Kennison, 1981, Genetics 98: 529-48).
