Description

The entire 16954bp intergenic region between the adjacent, divergently transcribed genes fuss and toy is fused upstream of GAL4 (the fragment extends from fuss intron 1 through to toy intron 1 and includes the lncRNA:sphinx lncRNA). The fragment is oriented so that toy exon 1 sequence is adjacent to GAL4 and is transcribed in the same direction (i.e. the fragment is in reverse orientation with respect to the normal direction of fuss transcription). Despite the orientation, this transgene drives expression of GAL4 in the pattern of fuss.
