ScerGAL4Gr39a.b.1 drives expression in adult abdominal multidendritic neurons with with dorsal processes extending along the left-right axis, as well as in multidendritic neurons with lateral processes extending anteroposteriorly; these major processes have several protruding dendrites. Additionally, expression is driven in laterally localized multidendritic neurons with extensive arborization. Expression is also observed in projections to the abdominal ganglion.

The other terminal organ neuron co-expresses ScerGAL4Gr33a.4.7, ScerGAL4Gr66a.1.8 and ScerGAL4Gr59d.4.1. Expression of ScerGAL4Gr39a.a.3.4 is also detected in one neuron of the dorsal pharyngeal sense organ (DPS or epiphysis).
