These neurons send axonal projections in an umbrella like pattern to the left and right dorsal regions of the subesophageal zone and co-express (in separate experiments) ScerGAL4^Gr2a.2.2, ScerGAL4^Gr57a.6, and ScerGAL4^Gr93d.2.4.

ScerGAL4^Gr23a.3.5 drives expression in larval gustatory receptor neuron of the epiphysis DP3 where it is coexpressed with ScerGAL4^Gr2a.2.2, ScerGAL4^Gr57a.6, and ScerGAL4^Gr93d.2.4.

ScerGAL4^Gr23a.3.5 drives expression in one gustatory receptor neuron of the larval dorsal pharyngeal sense organ (DPS or epiphysis).
