Expression is also observed in projections to the abdominal ganglion.

ScerGAL4Gr22b.5.8 is expressed in gustatory neurons of 6 of the bitter-sensitive short labellar taste bristles, and in gustatory neurons of the four posterior-most intermediate labellar taste bristles.

ScerGAL4Gr22b.5.8 is expressed in subset of the bitter-sensitive sensilla of the labellum.

ScerGAL4Gr22b.5.8 drives expression in one gustatory receptor neuron of the larval dorsal pharyngeal sense organ (DPS or epiphysis) and in one neuron of the posterior pharyngeal sense organ (PPS or hypopharyngeal sense organ).
