Expression of a GAL4 driver is under the control of the 3' 3 Kb (KpnI fragment) of the 8.5Kb 'shortvein' region of the dpp enhancer (the 3' end of this region corresponds to the 3' end of 5' non-coding exon of dpp-RB).

ScerGAL4dpp.3KK drives expression in the developing wing veins in pupal wings from 6-40 hours APF.

ScerGAL4dpp.3KK drives expression in parasegments 4 and 7 at embryonic stage 13, and in the esophagus and midgut at stage 17. In the develping pupal wing, ScerGAL4dpp.3KK drives strong expression in longitudinal wing veins, and weak expression in cells of the intervein regions.
