Drives expression in a subset of pacemaker neurons.

ScerGAL4cry.PE is expressed in all of the LNv, LNd, DN3 and DN1 neurons in the protocerebrum. It also labels the medulla projections of LNv and DN3 and a lamina projection from the fifth s-LNv PDF-negative neuron. The staining intensity in the cell bodies in the accessory medulla was stronger in the l-LNv than in the s-LNv cells. There is also staining in restricted domains in the lobula which did not originated from the neurons that projected to the medulla.

Expression is within all LN neurons, a subset of the DN1 and DN3 neurons, and not at all in the DN2 neurons. Expression was not seen in the third instar larval Pdf negative s-LNv neuron. Fibres of the Pdf negative s-LNV neuron were observed to project towards the accessory medulla and arborize in its central area.
