Description

P{en1} is an enhancer trap construct that encodes a cytoplasmic lacZ reporter. The enhancer trap sequence consists of a fragment of en promoter extending from -2.4kb to +188bp upstream of the transcription start site fused upstream of the lacZ coding sequence.

construct_comment: "en1" is shown in Figure 1 in FBrf0057521 as referring to two constructs, one with a rosy marker and one with a white marker. P{en1} is used by FlyBase as the symbol for the rosy construct only. The FlyBase symbol for the white construct is P{en1(w)}.

construct_comment: P{en1} and P{en1(w)} have different selectable markers; the en-lacZ fusion components are identical.
