Reference

In germ-band extended embryos, strong expression in the mesoderm, but characteristic ftz expression in the ectoderm is greatly reduced. Expressed in even parasegments. In later embryos, no expression observed in the CNS.

In gastrulating embryos, two weak stripes observed anterior to the cephalic furrow (unlike wild-type ftz pattern). Observed stripes in epidermis correspond to parasegments, not segments. Neural expression not observed.
