A set of third chromosome mutant stocks derived by insertional mutagenesis using the P-element construct P{lacW}; most lines have a lethal or semi-lethal phenotype. The P{lacW} construct carries a w+mC mini-white visible marker, Ecol\lacZ enhancer trap sequences, and bacterial sequences that allow plasmid rescue (FBrf0049800).
The insertion site was mapped to an EcoRI-EcoRI restriction fragment in the large first intron of Mi-2. The orientation of the insertion was not reported.
The P{lacW}Mi-2S000606 insertion falls within an 1.7kb EcoRI fragment in the large first intron of Mi-2 (which is also an intron of the nested Ell gene). The orientation has not been determined.
