The following information accompanied stocks donated to the Bloomington Drosophila Stock Center by Tian Xu, Yale University School of Medicine.
P{FRT.TX} carries a Flippase recombination target (FRT) sequence and a ry+ marker for use in generating FRT-mediated recombination-based clones (see FBrf0239820, FBrf0235868, FBrf0144754).
P{FRT.TX}79E is an insertion at 79E on the third chromosome. It has also been called FRT79E, PFRT79E and riFRT79E - 'ri' stands for kniri-1, which is on the original FRT chromosome as a closely linked allele that can be used as a marker.
