The following information accompanied stocks donated to the Bloomington Drosophila Stock Center by Christopher Potter and Liqun Luo.
P{QUAS-dm.P} was constructed as follows - the diminutive (dm, a.k.a myc) insert from flies carrying UAS-dm (P{UAS-dm.Z}132; FBti0064665) was PCR amplified and inserted into the KpnI/XbaI site of pQUAST. Functional QUAS-dm insertions were confirmed by two methods: 1) Expressing QUAS-dm in all imaginal discs using ET40-QF led to lethality as predicted and 2) Q MARCM clones expressing QUAS-dm in wing imaginal discs showed characteristic increased nucleolar size (Grewal et al, 2005, Nature Cell Biology, 7:295-302 ) as determined by anti-fibrillarin staining.
P{QUAS-dm.P}7 is an insertion on second chromosome.
