The Klp64D-Klp68D heterodimer is structurally dynamic. FRET studies using fluorophores at either the N- or C-termini suggest that both ends are equally dynamic. Binding of Kap3 increases the FRET efficiency of the C-terminal end of the Klp64D-Klp68D heterodimer.
