Source was cell extract of SL2 cell line; bait produced from endogenous gene; prey produced from endogenous gene.

Weak coimmunoprecipitation of MSL proteins compared to the amount of mle immunoprecipitated, suggesting that only a fraction of mle is associated with MSL proteins.

Positive control.

The interaction of mle with msl-1 is reduced by brief treatment with 0.4 M NaCl.

Comments concerning this interaction

The interaction of mle with msl-1 is much weaker than that of MSL complex components (msl-2, msl-3 and mof). In contrast to interactions between MSL complex components, only a small fraction of mle coimmunoprecipitates with msl-1 and the interaction is disrupted by RNaseA treatment. Nonetheless, depletion of mle leads to reduction in MSL proteins and roX1 and roX2 RNA levels.

Source was nuclear extract of S2 cell line; bait produced from endogenous gene; prey produced from endogenous gene.

Comments concerning this interaction

Source was cell extract of S2 cell line; bait produced from transfected construct; prey produced from endogenous gene.

The interaction of msl-1 with mle is RNA-dependent (disrupted by RNase treatment).

The interaction of msl-1 with mle is not disrupted by roX2-directed RNAi.

Positive control.

Comments concerning this interaction

Factors were detected on polytene chromosomes using antibodies (to proteins) or biotinylated antisense probes (to ncRNA). The PLA signal develops only if probes to the two factors are in close proximity to each other (within tens of nanometers).

Source was larval salivary gland of wild-type fly line; proteins produced from endogenous gene.
