Gene Summary
Apolipoprotein lipid transfer particle (Apoltp) encodes a apolipoprotein of the ApoB family. It is assembled with lipids to form high density, low abundance lipoproteins named lipid transfer particles (LTP). LTP catalyzes the transfer of lipids from the gut to circulating lipophorin and from lipophorin to peripheral tissues, such as imaginal discs and ovaries. Model Confidence:
  • Very high (pLDDT > 90)
  • Confident (90 > pLDDT > 70)
  • Low (70 > pLDDT > 50)
  • Very low (pLDDT < 50)

AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.

Testis-specificity index

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).

Additional Descriptive Data

Apoltp protein accumulates at the surface of nurse cells during oogenesis. Significant accumulation begins at oogenesis stage 9 and peaks at stage 10. In the wing pouch, Apoltp accumulates in basolateral cell membranes, and in a few apical vesicles. Larval expression is also observed in the salivary gland imaginal ring, the gastric caecum, the ring gland, oenocytes, and the fat body.
