The general transcription factor complex Transcription factor II A (TFIIA) is not required for basal transcription but it stabilizes the TBP-DNA complex. TFIIA is RNA Pol II-specific and stimulates constitutive transcription and activated transcription. (Adapted from PMID:25693126).
