The Threonyl-carbamoyl Transferase Complex is an ancient and universally conserved multiprotein complex that catalyzes the transfer of threonyl-carbamoyl to tRNAs, resulting in N6-threonylcarbamoyladenosine (t[6]A) modification at position 37. t[6]A is universal and present in nearly all tRNAs that decode 'ANN' codons. Notes on Group
In mitochondria, the product of Tcs4 (a paralog of Tcs3) functions independently to transfer threonyl-carbamoyl to tRNAs and does not require the other subunits of the TCTC (PMID:25629598).
