Description
Description
Beta N-acetylglucosamine beta-1,3-galactosyltransferases catalyze the transfer of a galactosyl residue to N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) to form galactose-beta-1,3-N-acetylglucosamine.
Notes on Group

FBrf0228609 classes GalT1 (CG33145), CG11357, CG3038, CG8668 and CG8673 as "beta1,3-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferases OR beta1,3-galactosyltransferases". The same paper goes on to characterize GalT1 as a beta1,3-galactosyltransferase. For this reason, all 5 genes have been included in the B3GALT gene group, together with CG30036 and CG30037, which are in the same paralog group as the other genes.
