Description
Description
DNA polymerase iota is one of several translesion synthesis polymerases that act to promote replication through DNA lesions that would otherwise stall the replicative polymerases. Instead of Watson-Crick pairing, DNA polymerase iota is specialized to promote Hoogsteen base-pairing (Adapted from PMID:30005324.)
