Description
Description
The P-type ATPases are transmembrane proteins that utilize the hydrolysis of ATP to actively transport charged substrates like cations and phospholipids across membranes. (Adapted from FBrf0155879).
Notes on Group

All members of the P-type ATPase family have a catalytic (or α) subunit that homodimerizes and contains the site for ATP binding and phosphorylation. The Na,K-ATPase (sodium pump) and the H,K-ATPase (proton pump), in particular, have an additional, glycosylated β-subunit (FBrf0155879).
