Description
Description
The N-terminal acetyltransferase C (NatC) complex catalyzes the acetylation of the N-terminal methionine of polypeptides with Met-Leu-, Met-Phe-, Met-Ile- and Met-Trp- N termini. (Adapted from PMID:19660096, PMID:22405572 and FBrf0234437).
Notes on Group

Naa30A and Naa30B are both catalytic subunit isoforms for the NatC complex (FBrf0234437, FBrf0194437). High-throughput expression studies indicate that Naa30A is ubiquitously expressed and Naa30B tends to be more testis-specific.

Based Complex Portal (EMBL-EBI) curation, Sbat, ortholgous to human NatC complex auxiliary subunit NAA38, has been included in the N-TERMINAL ACETYLTRANSFERASE C COMPLEX gene group.
