Description
Description
Gemin proteins are found in the nuclear Gemini of coiled bodies or in U bodies. Gemins interact notably with Smn to form the SMN complex. (Adapted from FBrf0223758).
Notes on Group

Lanfranco et al. (FBrf0237151) suggest that Hez, Sbat and Vlet are orthologous to metazoan Gemin6, Gemin7 and Gemin8, respectively, and are components of the SMN complex. However, the data of Matera et al. (FBrf0241402) argue against this. The composition of the GEMINS group reflects conclusions of Matera et al.
