Acting as an antioxidant by reducing oxidative stress, it is currently under consideration as a possible cancer treatment. It is a member of flavonols, a 7-hydroxyflavonol and a tetrahydroxyflavone. It is a conjugate acid of a kaempferol oxoanion.
