Description

A KDRT stop cassette (which also contains a single loxP site), followed by a GS linker and a 'smOLLAS' tag (10 copies of Tag:OLLAS inserted into the backbone of a fluorescence dead GFP) has been inserted into the endogenous nAChRα5 locus in the cytoplasmic loop between the third (M3) and fourth (M4) transmembrane domains. The tagged exon is common to all annotated nAChRα5 isoforms. This results in a conditionally tagged allele; RSR recombinase can be used to excise the RSRT cassette to produce 'smOLLAS'-tagged nAChRα5 protein.
