Description

The last seven common exons of Dop2R have been replaced with a sequence cassette that encodes GAL4, allowing expression of the driver under the control of endogenous Dop2R regulatory sequences. A loxP cassette containing a GMR::w marker has also been inserted, downstream of the GAL4 sequence.

      Dop2RKOGal4 homozygous adults exhibit a significant increase in sleep during day time (with significantly increased bout number and duration) and night time (with significantly increased bout duration but not number) while no alterations in sleep recovery rate after mechanical deprivation when compared to controls.
