Mutation within the first common exon of GATAe, resulting in an early stop codon in all transcript isoforms (predicted to result in a truncated protein of 45 amino acids).
ATTCAGGCTCTG
TCAGGCTCTA becomes ATTCAGGCTCTG at this location. This leads to an early stop codon in all isoforms and a truncated polypeptide of 30 or 45 amino acids depending on the isoform.
GATAe2 mutant embryos do not show morphological abnormalities in the midgut.
