      In(1)wm4h flies show a mosaic eye pigmentation phenotype due to the position variegation effect - adult eyes comprise a variable mixture of pigmented and non-pigmented ommatidia, combination of homo- or hemizygous In(1)wm4h with a single copy of Gas41Ex-02 significantly reduces the variegation effect and pigmentation loss. Combination of single copy of Gas41Ex-02 also alleviates the pigmentation loss observed in P{lacW}50C.x7 due to the repeat sensitive silencing.
