Silencing neurons expressing Hsap\RELAAD.VT50405 and Scer\GAL4DBD.VT007068 renders virgin females sexually unreceptive to males. Elevated levels of egg laying are seen. Activating these neurons has no effect effect on virgin receptivity, but drastically increases receptivity after mating compared with controls.
Silencing neurons expressing Hsap\RELAAD.VT50405 and Scer\GAL4DBD.VT045154 reduces the sexual receptivity of virgin females to males. Elevated levels of egg laying are seen. Activating these neurons has no effect effect on virgin receptivity and does not increase receptivity after mating compared with controls.
Silencing Ecol\lexAVT003280-expressing neurons does not suppress the increased receptivity to males seen in mated females when SAG-1 neurons (Hsap\RELAAD.VT50405 and Scer\GAL4DBD.VT007068-expressing) have been activated.
Activation of SAG-1 neurons (Hsap\RELAAD.VT50405 and Scer\GAL4DBD.VT007068-expressing) in virgin females in which the Ecol\lexAVT003280-expressing neurons have been silenced only partially restores the loss of receptivity.
Referred to as SAG-1 when in combination with Scer\GAL4DBD.VT007068 and SAG-2 when in combination with Scer\GAL4DBD.VT045154.
