Detailed Description

Expression of rigScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-ECFP under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR has no effect on flight ability of adult flies, mobility of the third instar larvae or shape of pupae.

Expression of rigScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-ECFP driven by Scer\GAL4da.PU induces supernumerary bodies that are largely nuclear in larval muscles; these foci are reduced and mostly restricted to cytoplasm in a rig05056/rigk07917 background. Expression of rigScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-ECFP driven by Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR does not significantly affect flight or lifespan.

Genetic Interactions
Statement

Simultaneous expression of Gem3ΔN.Scer\UAS and rigScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-ECFP leads to strongly reduced mobility in third instar larvae and more elongated shape of the puparium with the Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR driver and to complete adult lethality with Scer\GAL4elav-C155.

Co-expression of Gem3ΔN.Scer\UAS and rigScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-ECFP driven by Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in flightless flies with shortened lifespans (compared to either single expression, which is similar to controls).

Comments

Expression of rigScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-ECFP driven by Scer\GAL4da.PU partially rescues lethality in rigC063/rigk07917 (80% viable adults), rigC063/rig05056 (50%), rigk07917/rig05056 (55%), rigC063/rigC063 (55%) or rig05056/rig05056 (10%) mutants; expression does not rescue lethality in rigk07917/rigk07917 mutants.

Expression of rigScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-ECFP rescues the lethality seen when rigNIG.11171R is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL41032.hx.
