UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
FlyBase curator comment: 'centronuclear myopathy' subtype 'centronuclear myopathy 2' is associated with gene BIN1, a high-scoring human ortholog of Amph.
VL3 Larval muscles expressing AmphHMJ21356 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU or Scer\GAL4twi.PU exhibit nuclear positioning defects. Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU-driven expression in larval VL3 muscles induces significantly shorter internuclear distances and longer nucleus-muscle edge distance, but do not show differences in distance between nuclear lines, as compared to controls; embryonic LT muscles show no changes in the distance between the dorsal or ventral end of the muscle and the nearest nucleus. Scer\GAL4twi.PU-driven expression in larval VL3 muscles induces shorter internuclear distances, but no changes in nucleus-muscle edge distance or distance between nuclear lines, as compared to controls; embryonic LT muscles show a significantly longer distance between the ventral end of the muscle (but not the dorsal end of the muscle) and the nearest nucleus. Scer\GAL4Mhc.PU-driven expression in larval VL3 muscles induces significantly shorter internuclear distances, shorter distance between nuclear lines, and longer nucleus-muscle edge distance, as compared to controls.
