UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
Expression of QIL1GLC01383 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act88F.1.3 leads to a reduction in mitochondrial cristae junctions, detached cristae from the mitochondrial inner boundary membrane, defective cristae packing (with cristae arranged in multiple directions) and lower mitochondrial membrane potential in the indirect flight muscle.
Expression of QIL1GLC01383 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act88F.1.3 leads to a reduction in climbing ability, reduced level of mitochondrial DNA and mitochondrial nucleoid size.
Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU-mediated expression of QIL1GLC01383 (and Dcr-2) results in a significant increase in the number of abnormal mitochondria in muscles of third instar larvae - many show loss of cristae junctions and concentric stacks of inner membranes inside the matrix compartment. An increase in mitochondrial fragmentation and sphericity is also observed.
Scer\GAL4elav.PU-mediated expression of QIL1GLC01383 (and Dcr-2) results in a significant increase in the number of abnormal mitochondria in neurons at neuromuscular junctions - many show loss of cristae junctions and concentric stacks of inner membranes inside the matrix compartment.
