UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
VL3 larval muscles expressing koiHMS02172 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU or Scer\GAL4twi.PU exhibit nuclear positioning defects. Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU-driven expression in larval VL3 muscles induces significantly shorter internuclear distances and longer nucleus-muscle edge distance, and significantly shorter distance between nuclear lines, as compared to controls; embryonic LT muscles show increased distances between the dorsal or ventral ends of the muscle and the nearest nucleus. Scer\GAL4twi.PU-driven expression in larval VL3 muscles induces shorter internuclear distances, but no changes in nucleus-muscle edge distance or distance between nuclear lines, as compared to controls; embryonic LT muscles show no changes in distance between dorsal or ventral end of the muscle and the nearest nucleus.
