Expression of SRm160GL00538 alone or in combination with SRm160GL00538 (using UAS-dicer2 to enhance the RNAi efficiency) under the control of the Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf or the Scer\GAL4tim.PE driver results in strong reduction in the proportion of rhythmic flies under free-running (constant darkness) conditions in the adult locomotor activity assay. Under driven light-dark conditions, SRm160 knockdown does not lead to any significant irregularities in the locomotor activity even though the morning and evening anticipatory behavior is slightly diminished (not statistically significant).
