Starved third instar larvae expressing zdaKK107775 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI display a marked reduction in the area occupied by autophagic structures or or the autophagic marker LysoTracker puncta in fat body cells compared to controls, furthermore the nucleation of Atg8 is abolished in these cells (and also in salivary gland cells).
