The expression of Opa1miRNA.CDS.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4pnt-14-94 results in decreased number of mature intermediate precursor cells and young neurons in the larval brain.

Expression of Opa1miRNA.CDS.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Feb36 results in an increase in the number of boutons at the neuromuscular junction compared to wild type.

Wandering third instar larvae expressing Opa1miRNA.CDS.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Feb36 have a normal number of lipid droplets per ring gland.

Individuals expressing Opa1miRNA.CDS.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4 exhibit a significant decrease in lifespan, as compared to controls.

Mitochondria tend to cluster in aggregates in cardiomyocytes of adults expressing opa1-likemiRNA.CDS.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4. Mitochondrial fragmentation is seen and mean mitochondrial size is decreased approximately 30% compared to wild type.
