Adulthood-only expression of Phb1HMS00702 under the control of Scer\GAL4esg.PU leads to a decrease in the number of intestinal progenitors (esg-positive ISCs and EBs) in the adult posterior midgut epithelium; and their progeny covers a smaller proportion of the epithelium in linear tracing assays; there is an increase in the proportion of progenitors in G1. Upon DSS-induced regeneration clones show decreased mitotic index.
