Expressing fweScer\UAS.P\T.Lose-B in retinal clones under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU induces cell death of pupal photoreceptor neurons.

Retinas ubiquitously expressing fweScer\UAS.P\T.Lose-B under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU do not exhibit photoreceptor neuron death. The physiological cell death seen at the periphery of the pupal retina in controls is also not seen. The same is seen when fweScer\UAS.P\T.Lose-B is expressed by the eye-specific Scer\GAL4GMR.PU driver.

Expression of fweScer\UAS.P\T.Lose-B in photoreceptor neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU suppresses the physiological cell death seen at the periphery of the pupal retina.

Expressing fweScer\UAS.P\T.Lose-B under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF (but restricting expression in the neuronal cells using Scer\GAL80elav.PU) does not suppress the physiological cell death seen at the periphery of the pupal retina.

Expressing fweScer\UAS.P\T.Lose-B in cone cells under the control of Scer\GAL4wg.PU does not suppress the physiological cell death seen at the periphery of the pupal retina.

Expressing fweScer\UAS.P\T.Lose-B in primary pigment cells and cone cells under the control of Scer\GAL4wg.PU does not suppress the physiological cell death seen at the periphery of the pupal retina.

Overexpression of fweScer\UAS.cRc driven by Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI in cell clones triggers apoptosis in the wing imaginal disc epithelium.

Statement
Reference

Expression of AxnScer\UAS.cSb does not suppress the increase in photoreceptor cell death in retinal clones expressing fweScer\UAS.P\T.Lose-B under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU.

Cell clones generated in the wing imaginal disc epithelium that are homozygous for drprΔ5 and overexpress fweScer\UAS.cRc driven by Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI still undergo apoptosis.

Xenogenetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Co-expressing fweUASp.Lose-B suppresses the increased adult lobe apoptosis induced by the expression of Hsap\APP2xAPP.SP.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.

Complementation and Rescue Data
Fails to rescue
Comments

Expression of fweScer\UAS.cRc under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL in homozygous fwee202 mutant cell clones does not restore the survival of fwee202 mutant cells.
