Embryos expressing Pkc98E^JF02470 under the control of Scer\GAL4^da.G32 have denticles in the normally naked lateral regions of the cuticle and show loss of head and Filzkorper structures. The development of the central nervous system is strongly suppressed in these embryos.

Flies expressing Pkc98E^JF02470 under the control of heat-inducible Scer\GAL4^hs.PB exhibit normal learning ability, but both long-term memory and anaesthesia-resistant memory formation are significantly suppressed.
